Biography

First Lieutenant Luke A. Ranieri is an Aviation Officer and UH-60 Black Hawk pilot in the Arizona Army National Guard.

Before transferring into the Army National Guard, Luke was an active duty Air Force Logistics Officer and was stationed at Yokota Air Base in Tokyo from May 2012 to March 2015, working as the Passenger Terminal Officer in Charge in the 730th Air Mobility Squadron. After studying abroad in 2005 in Florence, Italy, he began teaching Italian night classes at Lehigh University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Geological Sciences. Upon graduating from Lehigh in 2008, he taught Latin and Spanish at Moravian Academy Middle School in Bethlehem, PA, for one year.

Beginning graduate school and Air Force ROTC in 2009 at San Diego State University, Lt Ranieri taught Intro to Geology lab for two years, and received a Master of Science in Geological Sciences in Dec 2011.

After discovering the best methods for learning Japanese, Luke began teaching Japanese classes at the Yokota AB Taiyo Community Center in June 2013 until March 2015 when he left Japan to begin U.S. Army flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama.
